i met lauren graham on my flight from charlottesville to charlotte, nc on my way to vegas.

it was hot.

we talked for like.. 2 minutes. she was wearing a UVA hat and she asked what my name was. she told me she is filming a sequel to bruce almighty in charlottesville.

awww, she was super nice!

i never update this thing. but since i'm avoiding work tonight and i have some fun news, i figured, what the hell?

so last night stephanie and i went to the VA vs. VA Tech basketball game. i wore my steelers jersey (hines ward) because, duh. so anyway, we were there and during one little break, the announcer welcomed back heath miller, who was watching the game, so i kind of flipped out and stephanie convinced me to go down and ask him to sign something (luckily, i carry a pink sharpie around with my everywhere, even though i dont know why). so, i headed down, wearing my steelers jersey, SO not knowing he was going to be there! and i asked him to sign the card they gave us at the game.. it was fitting, it had UVA stuff on it...

he signed it with my pink sharpie and i thanked him.. twice. and told him congratulations. he seemed kind of shy.

he's also much cuter in person, if anyone cares.

stephanie and i went to norfolk for a tim kaine rally this weekend and... I SHOOK BARACK OBAMA'S HAND! it totally rocked.

ok, so i officially have no roommate. a suitemate of mine moved out and offered to let me have her single room.. so i took it and ran. i'm glad to have my own room, but still have the same suitemates because i really like all of them.

i'll be taking pictures once the decorating process is complete... which could be a while since i'm about 4 days behind on my reading, oops. ok, maybe not 4.. i'd say like, 2. maybe. but anyway, everyone should be excited because it's a pretty awesome room. very small though.

also-- i ordered my class of 2007 UVA ring today.. its white gold and it's really pretty.. i get it at a ceremony on the lawn in late October! =D

anyway, i have some reading to do and some partying with the roomies =D ciao!

just a quick update... i've been *really* busy with classes and reading/studying/etc. it's been kind of intense these past few weeks but i think i'm finally settling in. charlottesville so easily wins in a contest with wise.. duh. but i do miss my friends from the old college.. that's the tough part.

i've officially joined uva-democrats!! yessss... it's fun to be a part of something like that-- people who share my interests and thoughts on a lot of things. i'm going to campaign for tim caine.. so that could be fun. i also joined the uva gymnastics club. i've missed working out at a real gymnastics-gym SO much!! it feels SO good to be back! i'm not going to be competing (at least not this year) bc i chose to work out once a week instead of twice, mostly due to my crazy reading/homework stuff... i really didn't want all of the added stress of meets and everything, i'm just happy to be there.

i changed my major. i'm not a history-girl. the major plan is-- either A) to go to law school or B) get my teaching liscence and teach elementary school.. both of which will work with this BA i'm getting. we'll see where i end up.. i've been giving it a lot of thought lately, but i guess i still have a *little* time to think about it...

i'm going home this weekend!! yaaaay! ♥ ♥ ♥

what else.. the season premiere of gilmore girls in this coming tuesday!! i wish i could watch it with my mom, but i guess it's all good. i'm excited about it anyway!! and then ER premieres on thursday. recently, lately these are really the only times i watch tv during the week, so i'm sort of nerdy about them =P but.. then again, everyone who knows me already knows i'm the biggest gilmore-nerd.

ok, i think that's it (i guess it wasnt really what one would call 'quick'). i'm going to read and go to bed... ciao!

ok, so i'm at UVA. i don't have any classes that i need, my phone only works 25% of the time, i'm not *quite* a third year (even though they still consider me that, it sucks). but the campus is gorgeous and my roommate and i get along really well. it could be worse.. and i think it will only get better as tiem goes on.

anyway, i finally have the nyc pictures ready to post, thanks to speedy ethernet on campus. yesss. someday soon i'll have pictures of my new dorm as well. it's not bad. homey, thanks to my parents helping me move around the furniture.

so.. i just finished watching house of sand and fog, a movie i've been wanting to see for a really, really long time and finally got the chance to rent. i dont really want to give anything away, but i do want to say that EVERYONE should rent it. i cried a lot and considering there arent many movies that make me actually CRY, that says a little something. i really like ben kingsley-- he was excellent in this movie. and jennifer connelly was really good, too. man, it's SUCH a good, good movie. you all should go out and rent it sometime, it's more than worth it. i'm going to the library to borrow the book tomorrow. or later today, however you want to think about it...

i guess i dont have too much to say right now, so i'm going to get to sleep. ciao!

so i have a bunch of new pictures to post from new york.. but i dont have a lot of time right now. among other things, my cousins are visiting from PA, i'm trying to make up for the 10 days of driving i missed when i was at the beach and in NY so i can get my liscence before i go back to school on the 20th, i'm also attemping to get info about hotels/resorts in disney world for christmas for my family (YAY! we're going!), and tomorrow i have to start trying to get into the classes i need at UVA via the internet.. which i dont suspect will be fun or easy. but i DO plan on posting these pictures, although i think i might as well wait until i get the rest from krispie. so, expect those relatively soon.

ok, 2 things..

1) i just got back from UVA orientation and i scheduled my classes... i was supposed to pick out 5 classes (small load for my first semester there.. i need to load up the next 3, but they were pretty insistant about 15 this semester) as well as 5 alternates for each class in case it was full. ''in case'' my ass! out of the 25+ classes i put down, i got NONE.. ZERO! i'm a third year transfer and i CANNOT get into ANY of the classes i need! i'm taking ''black protest'', for gods sake!! it doesnt seem uninteresting, but i have absolutely no use for it + as a third year transfer, i just dont have time to take bullshit classes (ESPECIALLY not my first semester!!) it effing sucks. i mean, ok... *maybe* i'm being a little dramatic. ISIS opens up on august 5th and i can probably (maybe?) get classes i need after people drop. and my politics classes are all but guaranteed bc it's my major... all i have to do is see a professor and once he knows i'm a pol major, i'm sure to be let in (and i'll pull the ''third year transfer card'' if he doesnt + then i'll definitely be in) but i NEED to take spanish this semester as well and get my non-westen perspective out of the way.. i cant believe i didnt get a SINGLE class i asked for.. not ONE. i know, i KNOW its not final.. but i'm still allowed to be pissed. i dont know why they didnt just pick out a schedule for me and say ''here, change it later''... thats basically what they did anyway. i'll just have to be persistant. august 5th wont come soon enough. there's absolutely nothing i can do about it until then, so i might as well let it go for now. sorry... i just got back + i needed to vent a little...

2) tomorrow i'm heading to VA Beach for the start of my trip to visit sara.. my family is traveling to chesapeake tomorrow after i work and we're staying in a hotel there + going to the beach sunday. i'm SO excited to have 9 days to chill after the 2 VERY stressful orientation days.. its going to be heaven!! i should take pictures...

i'm listening to john mellencamp right now + its actually making me feel a little better... i ♥ john mellencamp (as if i havent said this enough..) anyway, i have to start packing. 9 days, 8 nights worth of clothes. lots of bathing suits (i just bought 3 new ones! YAY!). fun times.
